I'm sorry, I am not sure what you need.

Are you asking for the light_environment settings? If you are, only the mapper that made it would know. But it shouldn't be difficult to get something close to it.

This is Masterdonut's map from RAINDROP. The settings are not available.

I'm afraid you'll have to figure this one out yourself.

If it isn't a custom sky, you can try to find it in the valve dev wiki, and copy the settings, if it is, you can find something similar and try those settings. https://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/Sky_List

You could try and decompile the map and take a look at the settings, but I'm not sure if the author wants you to or not. Usually they'll state something in the readme or add a setting that disallows map decompiles. If not, I don't see the harm in using it to learn, as long as your just using the settings, and not copying and pasting his work, but again, make sure it's ok by the author.

I messaged him a while back...it was one day after it was first discovered that Raindrop as a Source mod had ceased to exist. He told me that he and the other guy who was working with him were in the process of creating a package of the Source engine content to release to the public.

I'm not sure how much of that was leg-pulling on his part, but perhaps you can get the answer to your question if you just ask him on Mod DB for those settings. But keep in mind that a lot goes into creating a good-looking outdoor scene. For example, you will also want to ask about the fog settings for the map, and double check to see if he used a func_smokevolume in this area to create extra layers of mood (you can see a func_precipitation at work in the picture you provided...look at those flakes of ash/snow).

And of course, you will need to have a skybox texture that fits the light settings you end up with.

I recommend you try to get nice settings yourself. The colours in the screen will be some kind of greyish-blue or blueish-grey.

Try some values - to save time, just make a map and save and compile it with different light_env settings a few times - which you can then test in a row in a game. Much quicker than compiling - testing - compiling - testing.

I asked, but they are silent.

try this:

direct light: a light blue/grey with a medium brightness (250-375)
ambient light: pure white (255 255 255) with a low brightness (less than 75)

hell yea, that is pretty good looking. next you should institute some neutral gray fog (make sure you use the transparency for the fog to avoid the blooming at far distances).
