After literally years of anticipation, the final video in Team Fortress 2's excellent 'Meet The Team' series has been released. Alongside it, Valve have announced that their internal video creation software (used for the Meet The... videos, as well as basically all their marketing and cutscenes for the past few years) is to be released publicly.
There's a decent look at the software being released over at the official site for Source Filmmaker, where you can also sign up for the beta, and read more about what exactly we can expect when it does release.
The source filmmaker interests me way more than meet the pyro. Either way, fantastic job valve. Adding models and editing animation directly in game is really cool. And the fact that they're giving us the source to meet the heavy, awesomeness.
http://www.nomoreroominhell.com I don’t know whether I was right or wrong, I guess I’ll never know… But I made it. And I guess I should be thankful for that. - Strelok Has anyone really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like?
God I want Source Filmmaker. The first beta keys have already been sent, I didn't get it. I just watched the entire 11 part tutorial they uploaded on it, so I'm already prepared to jump in!
At the very least it should be fun to play with...

Here's to hoping that the movie that Shane Acker plans on making with Source Filmmaker is successful and attracts an audience of other directors/studios. I really like the idea of bridging the gap between movies and video games, and Source Filmmaker seems like the perfect opportunity for it. Plus, I generally like CG films.
