Today I hate..

I hate just about everything today.

So I ordered some screens for my screen printing venture and I have been tracking the package since it shipped. It has been showing it departed Phoenix on the 30th, but there has been no update since. This morning I came into work and checked it just to see and took a screenshot...

this is what I saw.


The problem is, the screens were delivered yesterday to my apt. The only reason I checked the tracking this morning was because I checked before I left work yesterday and it was still not updated.This is the umpteenth time I have found the USPS to be absolutely inept! For the life of me I can not figure out why they even offer a service they obviously do not use properly. It is no wonder they are broke! If I were a less honest person I would call the post office and say I have not received the package. They obviously keep shit records so would not be able to fight it.

I am going to keep checking the tracking to see how long it takes to update. "F"ing USPS!!!

usps cannot provide more screens just because you haven't gotten them yet, but maybe they could reimburse you...after an investigation, of course.

Avast blocks punk buster suddenly on bf3, and even disabling it the game still kicks you.. So gotta wait for avast to fix it -_-.

I'm pretty sure most "game design" degrees are fairly useless. Most of these things you'll learn are better self taught, and studios hire based on prior art, rather than education.

Game stuff is not art?

There's a big difference between being self-taught and going to school, it's being able to verify what you do is "good". Professionals give you feedback on your work, and tell you what you should be doing different and how you can find out yourself if you should be doing something in a different way. Of course it depends on the school, but a good school should really, REALLY, be a lot better than just being self-taught.

For me it will probably stay as a hobby. As I have yet to prove to my self that I could do such a thing full-time.

That's alright. Not everyone has to work in the game industry, perhaps your talents (no offense) and interests lay somewhere else.
