Speaking of Bible stuff, have any of you read religious texts cover to cover as if they were just books? I've been thinking about reading through the Bible, possibly the Quran and others.

I've had bible studies in elementary school. In retrospect I have no idea why because it was 90s after soviet union. We went over the old and new testament using this childrens bible thing. It wasn't really religious at all, it was more like a history class if anything, we got to draw the different important events. I don't regret reading it, whatever you may think of religion, the bible is a fairly interesting read the way you'd read Tolkien or popular pseudo historical what-if scenarios. Maybe its because the childrens bible was just a summary of the stories so it didn't have all the religious piling, who knows. I certainly remember enjoying read it though. Later on we covered greek myths and that was hella fun as well.

one earth day is based on the sun going up and under, it happens to take 24 hours at this point in time
so that wouldn't make any sense at all, especially 4.5 billion years ago

anyway, what is funny is obviously subjective.. but I thought it was funny because morgon freeman was god, there was humanoid dino in it.. and it made fun of the bible

(so if it's correct that it was written in the bible that sun was created on the 4th day, then indeed.. 4 days according to our standards... couldn't have passed, but yeah.. it's just another example of goat herders trying to explain what they can't, which is fine of course.. I would have probably come up with something like that back in those days to try and explain the world around me)
