How the hell did you get THAT much support? I mean it looks like a cool game and and all but games with way more polish and innovation have not raised nearly as much, spintires only got 60 grand. No offense, I like the game but I never fathomed it was going to get that ridiculously large pledge. Who are you networking with?

Stormy I saw it being played for a few hours on a very popular twitch stream who had a donation link up the whole time. I think he had like 6k viewers or more the whole time so that could be a reason.

I was hoping the programmer was watching that stream as he found like a billion bugs that need fixed, the streamer was basically playtesting it since he was looking for speedrun strategies which lead to him redoing levels like 100 times.

Because people really want to play a proper platforming collect-a-thon and Nintendo have become incredibly sterile lately. I think Mario 3D or whatever it's called sealed the deal. Besides that our character is charming and we've said all the right things.

I mean how can you say no to co-op in a collect-a-thon :D

Otherwise if you just google A Hat in Time and look at all the comments you can see why. We've had cosplayers already @_@

This game is going to be fucking amazing. I can SMELL it!

Also, it just goes to show that having your ducks in a row as well as great showmanship will go a long way. Not to mention there's a very large portion of the gaming community that cherishes classic 3D platformers like this. It's not all that surprising that it's getting this much support. In my opinion, it's been a long time coming for another serious venture in to this genre of gaming. I will instantly buy this game as soon as it's commercially available, simply because it appeals to my childhood so greatly; and I'm sure a plethora of other gamers feel the same way about it.

Also, I'm going to donate as soon as I get paid this Friday. I want to feel like I contributed to something this awesome, no matter how small.

Hehe thanks, it all helps, especially when the taxes come into it >_<

You must have a good sense of smell! hehe. So what's my old Nub up to these days? Last time we interacted was Pipe Dream? :P

I haven't been doing anything special in all honesty. Just working a lame part time job and gaming with friends. Sadly, all my creative drive is dried up at the moment. It would have been awesome if I actually improved my skills over the past few years. Who knows, I may have been able to freelance some work for you guys for this game. Would have been cool to contribute some work for such a cool project. I dunno if you all work at a studio together, or if you also have members who live in other countries that you interact with via the Internet. Hell, I would have some work for free.

But you and I chat occasionally on Steam, and we also interact here on the forums periodically. Pipe Dream wasn't our last interaction at all.

Also, I just realized that I get paid on the same day the kickstarter ends. I hope I can donate just before time runs out. My bank usually clears around 12:30am EST. Does the kickstarter end at Midnight on the dot?

Auuughhhhh I'm not sure, we started it at a silly time so it's not going to end at 12 I don't think but earlier...maybe.

Ah that's a shame about your creative slump. I went through some of those a few years back until I found my calling and my drive. Well you know, you can always contribute in a number of ways such as ideas or gameplay mechanics, drawings or level ideas. For example a fan drew this pic today of my lighthouse:

And already I got several ideas on how to improve it. I mean it's so obvious but I didn't consider windows on my lighthouse! And I prefer their textures on the surface than the ones in the game so there you go, they helped me in some small way.

And sorry for forgetting, it seems like forever since we had a good ol' Steam chat. I hope your bank clears it quick enough :P

Ahh...if only I could draw. Then I'd have a decent way of conveying my ideas aside from text. Honestly, if I sat down with examples of all the platforming features you guys are planning on using, I could probably think of my own ideas. I feel that since I've played 3D platformers all my life I'd have a decent chance of coming up with something mildly interesting. I just think I'd end up feeling (and looking) like an ideas guy. DUN DUN DUN!

But on a serious note, how much info regarding the game's design do you offer to the community? On top of that, do you guys plan on making a forum for fans to flock to so they can provide feedback and ideas? I'll gladly join such a following.

Heh sorry we can't really share everything :<

We're working on a forum, nothing fancy really. Don't have the time to waste it on making a proper website.

24 hours left, and we've almost reached 4 additional Grant Kirkhope tunes! :D

In these final hours, we at Gears for Breakfast want to thank you guys so much for your help and support!

A lot of you have been asking if we are ever gonna be supporting Paypal; we are happy to let you know that we've been speaking with the folks over at Humble Bundle to set up a Humble Store for A Hat in Time, which supports Paypal, Amazon and Google Wallet! We hope to bring you this feature on our website soon, so even if you missed the Kickstarter you'll still be able to get in on the action!

And one last thing... please consider voting for us on Steam Greenlight! I know we bring it up often, and we wouldn't if it weren't really important!
