Shitty maps nights are where we all make a bunch of throwaway maps and then get together and play them all. The intention with the first night we held was to provide the antithesis to that "development hell" stage of map-making where you sit on incomplete maps for ages not knowing where to take them-- to stop stressing out about particulars and just throw something together and play it. Over time it's developed into something a bit more experimental.
This time around we'll have 24 player slots instead of 16 so we can fit a few more people in. Slots will be first-come first-serve albeit with preference to people who have submitted maps and regulars.
Also note that we're going to be using CSGO for the first time. VScript is there for you to exploit however you see fit as well as all of the other new stuff that was introduced with CSGO (noblock is finally available!)
Requirements for maps:
- At least 24 player spawns (distribution between T and CT doesn't matter)
- NOT fullbright
If you are trying to pack content into your BSP with Pakrat or whatever you use, make sure that you do not pack your .nav file into it! This causes a bug where the map can't be loaded properly.
Refrain from using too much custom content so we can cut down on the size of the final pack as much as possible.
Send your completed maps to me on Steam or to hello@cbr.us.to
You can see some examples of what we've come up with in the past in these videos of previous nights:
Edit: It's over! Thanks to everyone who made a map and/or showed up.
Srredfire streamed most of the night. You can find the archived videos on his Twitch page: http://www.twitch.tv/srredfire/profile/pastBroadcasts
