My dad accidently deleted the weapon skins

Postby Torrean on Fri Sep 09, 2005 2:05 pm

He thought he was removing a mod, but he deleted most of the weapon skins except for the grenades and a 1 or 2 other weapons. How do I get those back? Also, if I fix this prob, how do I get rid of Fusion Pack Source?

Original CS: Source maps, models, skins and so forth are stored in the Steam cache files, so you can never delete them.

Therefore, things like Fusion Pack just place the models, skins and sounds in the exterior CS: Source folder, not in the cache file. So, if you remove the models in the CS: Source folder, Steam uses the content from the cache file again.

You should be able to just delete the models, sounds, etc... directories that were created by Fusion Pack, which brings back the old models.

If you lost a custom item however, like a weapon model that you installed, you will have to re-download it.

I think Valve asked the people who made the Fusion pack to take it down, or at least someone did, you'll be lucky to find it. Check out Counter-Strike-dl.com though, there are plenty of good skins and weapon replacements etc. to choose from.
