Anyway, i guess a lot of people had a lot of luck, if all eight lanes were used, and with a traffic jam at the full lenght of that bridge, we could have been looking at 100's, if not 1000's dead.

He's right, it could have been a massive disaster.

this is a tragedy for all those family's that are involved by this accident alot off people are still missing so more deads to come. but (and the watcher plz stop reading from here) i also hope that the discussion about reserving extra mony for maintiance of the olderly infra structure off the usa.
it's famillair that the usa got a old not well kept infra stucture at many fronts, it's beeing compared with third world country's and not only from the outside people of the usa also alot of local(state) goverments and ing. are aware of that.
so i hope before there are more disatres comming, new laws will be taken where in stands who's responsible for the infra structure and to spend more mony on it . even if this must come trough tax raise and that dont like the most usa people but it's necessary

Ugh, sorry guys. I wasn't myself when I posted all that crap. It's just, this is the first I've heard of this incident, and I thought something like this would cause controversy. But, because of my stupidity, everyone hates me now. Looks like I finally blew it, after 2 years of being here, and now I'll have to leave...

On-Topic: Like others have said, this could have been much worse. If there wasn't road work being done, and all but 1 lane in each direction weren't closed, this could've been much more tragic.

Yea, just because you might have screwed up a little one time doesn't mean that we want you out.

Come on mate, be tough ... I don't think anyone wants you to leave. Discussion among people from all over the world can get rough, as we can see everywhere. Just don't take it too hard. If you have problems with those postings, I advise you to reread the thread again and think again about it. Helps!

This goes to show that there are indeed more important tings going on in the world than celebrities going to jail. But, I am willing to bet that if a celebrity went to jail now, the whole bridge tradgedy would be forgotten...

LEss attention seeking in these topics please. I may have moved it but it's still a disaster. You can show some respect people and not try and turn this into a drama about yourselves thanks.

//Quite honestly? I blame the government. I'm going to say, without a doubt in my mind, that if it had been an even remotely intelligent private business who owned that bridge, this would not of happened. It doesn't matter anymore to the politicians than it does to the rest of us if a bridge collapses during their term. I guarantee you, no one will pin this on Bush. However, if it were a private company that owned that bridge, they'd be out millions, if not, billions in repairs. I can guarantee you, the cost of whatever it is to have a major collapse like that, is not worth whatever money they saved using faulty architecture.
