Stop picking politicians the same way you pick your celebrities.

Nobody knows what colbert's issues are, yet people are assuming that because he's funny that he'll do some good.

I'm all for entertainment. I'm not ok with assuming that someone entertaining should run the country.

Don't throw away your vote, guys.

Ron Paul 2008. He'll get rid of the IRS and bring the troops home, and he's already slaughtering the other candidates.

Why? Freedom is popular.

Yeah, I don't think anyone would actually consider giving a comedian presidency, so you don't need to go talking to us like we're thick. Also, you don't really need to advertise for your own favorite candidate with cheesy youtube videos and lines.

Damn. I was really hoping Colbert would get to run anyway. That would have been awesome.

Oh and Ron Paul's great btw.

Issues are whack.

Campaign platforms are stupid.

You don't want a President who's running based on he's gonna do A. B. and C.

You want a President who has the brains, balls, and UNDERSTANDING to approach new issues and situations he hadn't thought of from an objective standpoint.

EDIT: Not exactly the right place for had wrote below, and was slightly inflammatory. I doubt anyone cares aobut my views on taxes anyway.,

I'm sure I speak for (most) everyone here when I say I'm always willing to hear other people's opinions. I'd love to hear you view on taxes, but this isn't really the place.

Stephen Colbert is a genius, he's doesn't strike me as the kind of person who would let companies give him money in order to get legislation passed or vetoed. He strikes me as an honest person with a lot of integrity (even though his show is an act), the kind of person who, if he was elected as president, would make his decisions based on the motif of, "Will this decision be good for all the people of America?" I think he'd be a great president. I hate having rich presidents, there needs to be a system that makes it so that regular people can afford to run.
