Steam Games/Lopers Chat not responding.

Just wondered if anyone else is having trouble launching Ep2. The chat isn't working either. I wanted to play Portal Prelude too and it won't initialize either, only thing I get is the little window saying "Preparing to launch (whatever game"

Anything I can do about it?
