Have you seen this before? There are actuallly people who believe the earth is flat and it's just a conspiracy the government cooked up for us. What the hell?
Does anyone here still believe that the earth is flat?

fairly lol discussion about it on my forum. Its retarded, but theyve tried to apply some clever science to their dillusions which kinda scares me as it must require intelligence to work that out but you woulda thought with that intelligence theyd work out that the earth being flat is a retarded idea.

people who claim these sort of things only want attention.
just like the peeps who believe aliens put humans on the earth

this is worse then religion because most of the time these cults exploit ignorant people,
like Buy this Book and you have good luck and fortune in your life..

just watch that scientology episode of Southpark and you know what I mean :P

Well, i went and read 90% of it.

And came up with some fantastic arguments.

1. Wheres the edge?

2. Where does gravity come from? There's no concentration of mass

3. Why do the celestial patterns change?

4. WHAT THE FUCK IS SPACE>!>!>!>!>!!??!?!?!?!!?1111!!!

5. If these "high altitude photos" are fake, and made with a fisheye lens, why are the wings of the plane straight?

6. despite the fact any of them could go to America's Kennedy Space Centre and watch a rocket or shuttle launch and enjoy the show of it entering space, then returning a few days later, "they explode in space and its covered up." Really.

7. Ice Wall theory. Fuck off.

8. Even though anyone with even a modicum of astrology skill can rig up a telescope and check stuff in the sky out, they seem to believe that all pictures are "fact" and therefore fake. But why not check out a satellites postion as it orbits earth? it will vanish over the horizon, then return the next night. Maybe they think they'll be going mad.

9. The "ship mast" effect i was taught in year 6 (grade 6), where you will see the mast of a ship over the horizon, then the rest of the ship gradually due to the curvature of the earth, is solid. So no doubt the sea "has hills that affect its flatness" and therefore the ship should been seen straight away if it wasnt blocked. Even though water always lies flat within a container.

10. And to finish, the Coralis effect. Odd that it exists, eh?

Methinks i just pwned them. Im normally all for religions etc, but when people are so evidently bonkers and desperate to defend their pathetic ideal in the face of tons of arguments, someone asking "make a map" and then "no" being the answer.........deary me

This has been around foreverrrrrrrr. I used to go in there and pwn them all the time about their BS theories. Its pretty funny. If you corner them, they will make up stupid ass excuses if they dont delete your posts and ban you first. They will do anything they can to live in their denial just a wee bit longer.

Also check out the church of the flying spaghetti monster. Not as humorous, but still worth a laugh.

theearthisfuckinground.com is available.
Might be a good name for a conspiracy site.

I checked out the site, it seems not everyone is saying the earth is flat, unless I read the wrong areas. Couldn't find anyone saying they truly believe the earth is flat. But again, I only skimmed through some posts.

Now, we all know the earth is spherical/round, I think only a small minority of the worlds population believe it is flat, either due to being simple minded or because they have no contact outside world, tribes etc.
So really its only simple minded people, as they have access.

Might as respect their opinions though.

If people want to believe the earth is flat, just let them. At least they are not aggressively preaching it like Mormonism. Sure, it's good for a laugh. I know I laughed at the site, but is it really worth it, all hopping onto a band wagon and viciously bashing it? It's not like they're the French, right? I'm joking, but anyways, my point is: If you see some belief being pushed on other people and condemning all other beliefs then go ahead and stomp on it. Now if you see some small pacifist group of people who practice their beliefs and keep to themselves, don't go bullying. Crack a joke about em? Sure! But there's no need to kick a cat when the mountains are riddled with cougars.

Being able to see Russia from her house, I'm sure Sarah Palin would be able to confirm that the world is indeed round.
