Added! Maaan, you have some serious skills, I was admiring your work on Moddb recently (Styx I believe).
I'm sure I recognise your post "Mirror's Edge before and after" but don't remember your blog; have you redesigned it?

Thanks man! I did do some redesigning of my site not too long ago yea.
It's not necessarily an Off Limits dev blog btw, it's just Off Limits now because that's what I'm currently working on :)

@marks
I'm particularly interested in Gaynor's Specific Violence article, probably because I'd love to implement Warren Spector's One City Block idea, which Gaynor acknowledges as having some overlap.

@simon.Wt
It was intended to be a description of you, not the blog, but amended anyway. ;)

The "Specific Violence" article was interesting.

I've been playing Assassins Creed: Brotherhood (AS2.5) and the game makes use of his exact point.

You spend the game going after targets, following them and getting information.
Before you actually kill the target you know a lot about their life.

This works wonders in the game imo.
Hell, even some of the nameless guards get character at certain points in the game.
Contact. The EU welcomes the pain free. That's emotional impact.
I actually think limitation is good for creativity. If we had an engine that could do everything, we would be in trouble. It gives us focus. ~~ Randy Lundeen

Added blog of The Witness, Jonathan Blow's new game.

While you're about it, I strongly recommend you check out his interview with Simon Parkin on Gamasutra; contains thoughts on The Witness, game design, and XBLA certification.

That interview was ace. It's a shamen JB doesn't post many lectures and conference talks on the Braid blog anymore, I really enjoyed listening to them because he's an incredibly smart and switched-on guy. I will be following the "The Witness" blog for sure.
