Hammer 3.5 Counterstrike 1.6 HELP

Hey!
I've made several maps with this software and never had this problem. Never had a problem this early in the mapping phase either, VERY frusterating.
Anyway!
I made a map called de_treehouse and have been trying to compile it to try it out. Problem is, I compile it and an error comes up that says "The system cannot find the file specified."
Seems like an easy fix... I look in the console, however, and the system is looking for a file named "mcbrown05.bsp" mcbrown05 is my steam signon. Soooo if its renaming the file to an unexisting name, I'm not surprised it cant find it.

I've saved the file as a hundred other names, exported to .map and .dmx(or whatever that weird one is)
no luck
I thought it had something to do with my original setup, but i've checked it again and again with no luck. Then thought it was having trouble because my config.cfg is read-only (to prevent hack attacks) still no dice.

Means you have a leak before it can start compiling. Show us the compilelog.

Dont think its a leak, and again the map name is de_treehouse, so why is it looking for mcbrown05?

It's possibly reading as far as C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\mcbrown05

Try storing the .map file in a directory like C:\gamedev\HL1maps then compile from there. Lengthy directories can sometimes be a problem - hope that solves things for you!

You really should try what I suggested up above: moving your map files & compile tools to less lengthy directory names.

Like I said, the compile tools can't read any farther than "C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\mcbrown05" in the directory name.

I never found why, but the compile tools need to be on the same disk as steam (ie c:/zhlt)
