atheists don't believe in god (theis = god, theistic = god oriented religion) but that doesnt mean they don't have a religion. for example, buddhists and taoists are atheists

also i hate to break it to you z@c but the usa has the largest number of religions of any country in the world due to the dozens of native american religions.

though it is true most people here believe in a christian denomination "no religion" is the second most popular choice

we also have the second largest population of bahai in the world.
