In all honesty though, when they first pushed him out of Apple, the company tanked until he got back with them - it'll be interesting to see if it happens again now that he's gone for good.

Tim Cook is essentially Steve Job's carbon (doh ho ho) copy. I'm not sure whether he has the same drive Jobs had, but personality wise they're pretty much the same.

I don't want to make light of Steve Jobs death but it really is sad to see where our priorities are as a society. We are not mourning the death of Shuttlesworth, who also died, a man who fought for civil rights in the South during one of our nation's most difficult times but instead we are devastated because a man who created an object passed away. Steve Jobs created a piece of technology and people are thanking him for "changing our world." Why are you people thanking a man that you made the 42nd wealthiest American? Steve Jobs did change the computer industry forever, but Fred Shuttlesworth fought against hate and gave blacks in the South hope. Steve Jobs fleeced you for your money and made you believe he gave you something that you "couldn't live without." I say this not to vilify Steve Jobs but to make the point that we are so far gone as a society, we live and die with materials and celebrities. It's a bummer.

That said, isn't it ironic Steve Jobs died from Pancreatic Cancer? PC? HURR HURR.

I'll admit I was a little disappointed to see the flag half mast for Steve Jobs. Kinda stupid. Unless it was for Shuttlesworth.

Mr. Happy wrote:Steve Jobs was a great man. Great in that he was larger than life, powerful, genius, and had amazing insight into consumers. It is a loss for the world, our culture, and it is very sad for his family and friends.

But I think the world will be a better place without him. While Apple had a few minor innovations in technology, their products have always been overpriced, technically unsophisticated, and inferior to their competitors. The only things they did better than their competitors was marketing and making casings.

His vision and genius was to show the average consumer that they can use technology and that it will help them, and he created a culture around that. That is amazingly important and good and he is a good man because of it. But he did it by saying 'you are too stupid to change the battery in your phone, let us do it for you.' He got greedy, zealous, and mean. In their quest to make things 'easy' for the consumer, they ended up patronizing and elitist. When they realized that people liked what they made, they also realized that they could completely rip off those same people. This is the fault of Steve Jobs.

When you die, you see your life going by in a flash... Steve jobs didn't. Apple doesn't support Flash
