So with my contract sitting here in front of me I'd like to just tell you guys I will be joining Playground Games as a Level Designer!
I know most of you will being going 'who? what? never heard of 'em'. They are a brand new studio formed back in 2009, working on their first title, which is going to be a AAA game with a major publisher on board. The reason why I am extremely excited is, not merely the game they are making but the fact they are not trying to punch above their weight. A large chunk of their team derives from Codemasters, many of which worked on Dirt/Dirt 2 before moving onto this independent studio. Plus industry veterans from many big companies like Rockstar North and the likes. So I count myself super lucky to be given the opportunity to start my career in the industry with them.
I don't want to be too soppy but I've got to thank a lot of you guys here at Interlopers for the last 6 years I've been following/part of the website, because it's the community that helped build my foundation and get me to where I am now.
Especially a select handful who have recently guided me in the right directions regarding my portfolio work.
So special thanks to Tay (Krem), Jason (Gen. Vivi), Delta, Joe (ad_hominem), everybody I've done modding work with & everybody in chat for crits and playtesting and all that jazz. (Feels like I'm doing an awards speech herp derp)
