Not to mention that perfectly clean sheetrock room with smooth wooden floors right there on the right. Them particles effects are amazing though.

Yeah, I finally got to watch the videos ( I wish I could find gameplay that isn't compressed to hell and back...). But it looks like a modern game. Definitely good, maybe but not on CryEngine/UE/Frostbite's level, but still good. Amazing how much difference completely different assets can make.

As for making it deferred, I'm going to assume it takes a lot of work to get it running fast enough for a game like this. I highly doubt these guys could pull off this many effects and action on Bio's deferred path for ASW if they even wanted.

The links to the 60fps 1080p videos from the official site (gameplay demo + trailer) here. For those of you who want a closer look. Definitely looks like modern-day brush-tastic Source.

That brings up a good question. Why the hell hasn't any developer added in SSAO to Source yet?

Because SSAO looks like garbage. HBAO is the kind that's worth having but its so expensive.

Well one or the other but either one (unless overdone and out of place) is better then nothing.

Was reading on Neogaf where a Titanfall dev was explaining what they've done to the engine.

It's definitely Source 1, switched to DX11 with a new renderer & proper multicore support enabled apparently. No idea why they didn't chuck in a fancy deferred renderer like what we have on Alien Swarm. But they chose Source for the great netcode mainly and that it was an easy engine to iterate the core mechanics in and test very quickly.

A bit off topic, but I hate those screenspace stencil buffer sun shafts with a passion and I'll be glad to see them go.

Maybe this hardware generation.

Contact. The EU welcomes the pain free. That's emotional impact.

Are you serious? Source got some of the best networking capabilities out there.

I wish I could watch over their shoulders over at the Titanfall Ranch, and snicker loudly every time Hammer crashed.
