The map is too SQUARE!

The texture is off in the y-axis!

Where is the lightbulb, is the light just coming from THIN AIR!?!?

Where is the FREAKING BUY ZONE?

GIVE UP MAPPING NOW YOU WORTHLESS EXCUSE FOR A HUMAN BEING!!!

P.S. Sorry, just had to get that off my chest.

Sheesh, harsh. But yes that map does look very basic. But the map was designed to be easy for new mappers.

Bah, I was making fun of the typical response when I post a map here.

You have a very distorted view of this site. Which is a shame because shit like that happens but it really doesn't happen for every single post. Still you need to grow a thicker skin if this is the kind of response you have when you get critisised.

However the post you made is not funny, had no reason for being here and had no indication that it was "a joke" (if you can call it that.)

If you post crap like that again i start deleting posts.

If you have the need to spam go to the random thread.

On another note. People are saying this map is too basic. This tutorial is to show a complete n00b the very basics of mapping so they can get started and actually learn on their own as well as with tutorials.

It's not a "how to make de_prodigy" tutorial. So stop making out you have somehow been short changed by this.

Thank you now back on topic.

I can understand that this tutorial covers the basic of the basics, but perhaps a step 2 tutorial that covers making more than one room, linking them together with brushes and cover some other handy little hints, like advanced usage of the face selector tool, using the vertex manip tool in a typical medium etc.

I'm trying to make my own map but when I create a brush with a texture on it I can't see the texture in the "camera-view". I only see a few lines. Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

It'll be on wireframe mode, in the camera view click camera, then scroll down to 3D textured and click
