pow121 wrote:When i finished and did almost everything, The files, after pressing F9 and compiling were .lin and .vmf which is different than all the other maps. Also Instead of the Info_player_terrorist which didnt seem to exist on my comp i put Info_player_start. When i go to play the level on cs, it does show up on the create a server menu, but i click play and it acts as if i pressed close, PLEASE help me!

i have the same problem with the create a server bit, but for the info_player_start you are using Half Life 2 stuff. so on source sdk, when you launch it at the the bottom there is a bit thats says surrent game. change that to counter strike source.... that should sort that out.

This tutorial would be about four times shorter if the author just made a solid block and clicked "make hollow" instead of building each wall, floor, and cieling manually.

You can also "ungroup" a single block primitive to split up the walls....
Strangely Delicious.

I much prefer the manual method when it comes to making rooms, it gives me more control on how the room should come out...

that is why you do -16,-32,-ETC hallow then it will hollow out ward instead of inwards.

Even still, hollowing outward will do the trick.

Hey there! Just signed up to this to say thanks for that guide (hoping to read and post elsewhere). Google found this for me so sorry if this thread is kinda old. This guide is great:D And I tried the hallo box type the others mentioned but that really doesnt allow for it to be edited like a door etc? (Dont fully know:P). I dont have a screenshot of my first map but heres the addon of it. as you can see in the measurements its from your guide :p I just stretched bits and made others.

=) also a classic idiot/newbie moment is this.

Anyway, thanks for the guide. plan to read some others I'm curios about this whole putting ladders that work in (friend, just mentioned it). Hope to talk to you all soon! gnight!
