I have a wench, with a rope hanging from it.. i want to attach a func_breakable to the end of my rope and have it swing around when its shot...

if i eliminate my last keyframe_rope and add an entity to it i can have it swing like a hanging lamp(prodigy)... but whenever i attach anything to my rope.. it jus sits there.

so far my entities go in this order:
i start with a move_rope, then move through to keyfram_rope #6
at the joint of keyframe_rope #5 i attached my ballsocket and put in a small nodraw surface to attach it to

i cant get this to work and its driving me crazy..

well the problem there is the Func_breakable it will not move since it is not a Physics-enitity try a Func_physbox..

i tried that, but my object just dissapears and the rope is jetting through the floor at a 45 degree angle

ive tried every combination i can figure out ... tieing one entity and not the other, tieing both, etc...

if i tie the func_physbox to the rope it apears but wont move, and if i tie the rope to the func* i get the 45 dgree angle thing...

ive actually put this room on hold until i can figure this out..
if please pm me or email me if you want the file for the individual room... see if you can figure it out...

*shrugs*

I followed the instructions in this tutorial to the letter, but the ragdoll just falls to the floor. Any ideas on why this might happen?

HOw do you get it hanging from his neck then? Every time I try to hang a ragdoll the rope disappears into its back.

I presume you must move the origin of the ragdoll to the place of the neck.

EDIT: I am talking bollocks, you can't have origins for ragdolls :|

nvm

Sorry to dig up an old post but this tutorial is rubbish. Not a single person has been able to recreate the tutorials end goal. You don't use a phys_ragdollconstraint and the keyframe_rope and move_rope are in the wrong spots. I am in the process of making a working tutorial on this subject moments after I hit the submit button.

It's an old tutorial so if you're able to write an updated version then I'm always happy to improve the tutorial content.

Cheers
