when i shoot the glass it turns this horrid white colour, i couldnt understand what you were talking about in the above posts, so sorry if this is the matter you were discussing.

EDIT: I think it may be because i havent got any lights, and it is mat_full brighting. Let me check

i am Having a Problem with this Tut

i do every thing it Says

When i compile My Map When i Try 2 Load it Error Sounds Happend and Crashes My Game

i wanna make this work on my HL2 map, but the texture "glass/offwndwb" isnt in the texture browser for half life 2 cos its a css texture. i got gcf scape to extract the texture and put it in the hl2 directory but where do i look for the gcf? i dont understand how to use this program. :?

Agh, old thread. If u dont know how to use somethign, like GCF, then dont use it. Just use another window texture. I think the one your talking about is in the HL2 texture directory. Put "glass" in for filter.

yes i have and theres several different ones. i was hoping you'd save me some time and just tell me which one was the same as the css texture. but meh .. :evil:

i tryed this and it doesnt work.. you should have one side, the glass texture and the other nodraw. i dont know how to do that. when i apply the the texture and nodraw it covers the whole thing... how do i make it only apply to half the window

Welcome to Interlopers. The reason the whole thing is getting covered is because you have the whole brush selected. When you enter the texture tool use your pointer/cursor select the face you what to texture. If you want more than one face use the shift+click to get multiple faces. It will just take a little practice and you will get it.

thanks for the info. but now everytime i try to change the window to breakable_surf and sut it up and press ok and exit it, it switchs back to func_detail and when i run/compile the map, the window itsnt even there
