Hmmm so what would I do if people can switch the light on and off? Not have any cubemaps at all in the entire map?

nice tutorial, was wondering for a while there why my rooms only lit with light coming from a window looked so aesthetically ugly.
Very nice, thanks.

i'm a noob so forgive my guess here ... but is there a way to TRIGGER a cubemap? so when you turned ON the light, it would use a different cubemap than when you turned OFF the light? in other words, 2 different cube maps for the room, depending on the state of a trigger for the light?

When you use the buildcubemaps command will your resolution/graphics change the overall effectiveness of the cubemaps?

Also when would you use the different properties of the cubemap? Or is it just best to leave it at default?

I'm having the same problem as some of the others in here... I placed my env_cubemaps, loaded the map and typed in the buildcubemaps command. Nothing changed, it's still using the default skybox cubemap for everything, even after reloading the map. Here's what the console said, maybe that last line has something to do with it?

] buildcubemaps
bounce: 1/1 sample: 1/13
bounce: 1/1 sample: 2/13
bounce: 1/1 sample: 3/13
bounce: 1/1 sample: 4/13
bounce: 1/1 sample: 5/13
bounce: 1/1 sample: 6/13
bounce: 1/1 sample: 7/13
bounce: 1/1 sample: 8/13
bounce: 1/1 sample: 9/13
bounce: 1/1 sample: 10/13
bounce: 1/1 sample: 11/13
bounce: 1/1 sample: 12/13
bounce: 1/1 sample: 13/13
