can someone please help me i have started creating a map and i want a plane and i seriously can't do it i have read through the tutorial and still don't under stand :shock: can someone pm me or email me and help me with it

This is for CS:S and you CANNOT make plane for CS:S, again, CANNOT. If you want the HL2 BSP plane then you will need to find that tut on another site.

ahh your wrong there well kinda right theres no planes but there is helicopters i saw a map with one and you control it from a control panel on a platform :( still don't know how to make a jellliwoptor either

Question: I think i came up with an idea on how to do this but i need some help getting it to work. Is there a way to parent a teleport entity to a func_physbox setup like we have now? and if not, should i complain to valve? I mean, the least the could have done was make a "vehicle" like the pod where you press E and you go inside it, then allow us to tie that to func_physboxes.

One question. How did you manage to make the car turn like a real car? Because mine just slides sideways :(

Put the thrusters further up the sides of your car.

You want to make a boat? Well in Gmod you can apply material settings such as float so I wonder if the same can be done in Hammer.

I even made a boat myself, great fun to drive on water.

I am not sure if I posted it before, but here it goes anyway.

ONLY FOR HL2 DM

Fully controlable heli
* use the green box area to get in the heli ( invisible in game )
* regular controls for moving around, up is left mouse.
* Credit me if you use this prefab, I 've put enough time in testing this thing ... I hated it back then, but using it to fly ingame made up for everything :)
* Has one bug, sometimes you can't sit correctly in it ( pain to steer then )
* Fun for crashing people. Rockets can't kill you ...

I am too lazy to upload a ingamie but heres a hammer shot.

marnamai, that is fucking awesome. only crit i have is that the blades have to be turning before it will actually let you fly (have to press use key on them) - i think this was intentional. the actual problem lies in the fact that when you hop in and the blades arent spining, it still makes the spinning blades sound... strange.

also, it's a bit heavy, and falls too fast.

As for the car, I am having problems with the left and right thrusters. I have both of them pointing about 45 degrees away and ahead of the vehicle, but as the vehicle moves, I don't think that the thrusters turn with the vehicle. I believe they stay facing the way they were setup in hammer, and so my vehicle goes different ways. I tried copying all of the car in the test map, and even though it works nice in the map it came in, when I load the car into mine, it's all screwed up. Is there something I need to do concerning my map, or is it just the cars? Any help would be appreciated.

I'm not sure if this method works for source anymore, as I used it in a map, and ever since a Valve update, the map has crashed servers.

Everybody has been trying to add vehicles in css for ever, the closest sombody's got to it is here:

I might get my coder friend to finish the coding bugs since we are working on a NFSU/GTA type of mod hsrmod.com for details

If any coder manages to get the vehicles working in css please post back on here, or if you need the vehicle code I might have it, can't remember gotta look thru

since the whole idea behind the car is just a physbox with thrusters, wouldn't a plane be easily buildable with just really high-powered thrusters? I could only imagine how hard it'd be to steer effectively. To keep the player inside, you could just parent like a func_rotating 'bubble' top to the plane above the cockpit to close down on the player and seal him in. Although with that, I think ramming the jet in to something while your inside would have pretty bad consequences because it's pretty much just a big shooting chunk of metal. Also couldn't lasers or something be added to the original idea of the cart or any other vehicle by having the GUI shoot the laser when the player hits whatever key you desire it to be based off of?
