How do I make a double iris opening door work where the inner iris opens first, then the outer iris opens second, taking the inner one with it?

I much prefer my own type of Iris door:

Instead of using triangles for doors I use polygons that fill half of the door-openings surface. Then ofcourse you can fit only 2 doors in the door opening. BUT you can make different layers which lay behind each other.

For the rest the technique remains identically. The result is a much more realistic iris door.

there you go one stargate not the best looking but I kind of just used a simple water/water_lod and spot light :P

You dont really need origins as there is a much easier way to do it using helpers.

1. Toggle helpers by going into the tab "view" and then press "View helpers".

2. Now when youve selected your entity func_door_rotating you should see a small circle (=helper) somewhere in the middle of the triangle (in 2d view). Also in 2d view you can drag around the helper and if your following the Iris Door-tutorial I suggest you put it in a corner of the triangel but in the middle of the width. Its hard to explain so heres a picture:

The example map isnt working, 404, can someone please re-upload that or a similar map containing the iris door so i can have a look at it.

I know this is a bit late, but I think I have a solution for you. parent each of the center ones to it's larger piece on the outer ring and then name all the center ones something like iris_inner and all the outer ones something like iris_outer. Create a button or trigger_multiple and set it's ouput to ontrigger->iris_outer->open

then select all your iris_outer and create a new output: onfullyopen->iris_inner->open

and do the reverse of this for when you want it to close.

HI, i know this will sound a little strange, but im trying to apply this tipe of door to dods, anyone knows a replacement for the func_button, i suppose its a hl2 entity, because its doesnt show up with the dods hammer config.
Anyone knows how i could do it? oh and btw, i tried the trigger thing with proximity of the player, but such entity doesnt appear too (none of the triggers appear, or im not undeerstunding right and trigger is not an entity (and yes i know its a tipe of texture too.
Life would be so much easier if we could look onto its source code.
