description
A helpful list of all the skyboxes and the optimum light_environment settings for each one.

keywords
environmental, environment, light, lighting, sky, skybox, box.

This tutorial is for those mappers that want to find the perfect settings for their light_environment entities without having to use trail and error. I've included a list of most of the skybox textures and the settings to use with your light_environments (you can see good sky pictures here). All the settings were taken from the game, so they should already be perfect.

This tutorial assumes that you know how to use skyboxes, light_environments, and changing basic entity settings.

-- The settings for the light_environments are in bold

You mean like the CS: S skys? I would do those but I can't find a good skynames list like here on interlopers (its only a HL2 skylist).

Well, Valve never uses that sky in any maps so I coulndn't extract any information for it. Also, the wasteland sky is not good because it has that blue line around the top

Nice tutorial,it adds that much more atmosphere to my map when I can stand on a skyscraper and look at how nicely the light comes from the right spot and makes nice,proper,pointing-the-right-direction shadows on my buildings. Thanks a lot,and nice tut! :D

Hmmm, I don't know. If Valve uses that sky in one of their maps then yes.
