Very useful, they do add just the right ambience to the map. Cheers for that... Now if we had settings for the env_suns it would be perfect... not to pressure you or anything!

not to rain on anyone's parade, i'm sure this list has been helpful to many. but there's a comprehensive list here:

http://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/Sky_List

covers every sky in Source, with picture goodness and light settings

Has anyone else noticed that... these don't actually line up?

Most of them are slightly off, which is actually interesting because they WERE actually slightly off in the Valve maps! I noticed this particularly in one level, where the sun was shining on a white concrete plane, but if you stood on that plane you couldn't even SEE the sun. It's a little bit of a throw-off...

The position of the light_env doesnt matter/it doesnt have any effect if you move it.

hmm.. maybe a little offtopic, but still.. i know there is no way to trigger light_env.... still, maybe someone can give an idea, how to make for example change of envoirmental lightning on logic timer? i mean, when map starts, its light - and after some time it get's dark?

Thank's for all ideas you can give...

p.s.

sorry for my english))

You mean like the CS: S skys? I would do those but I can't find a good skynames list like here on interlopers (its only a HL2 skylist).

All of the skybox sun properties can be found HERE

That's not possible because lights are 'baked' into maps making them static and non-changeable.

Its halfway possible but requires a really fine tuning. You can use a clever Skybox in combination with the color correction.
