I am having a bit of a problem. I have 3ds max 8, and the sub object params are not on the modifier menu. Bit of help?

I would love to see a tut how to uv map some curved and rounded objects and crunched or dented stuff. Another one I can think of is a dome with outside ribs that will have details in the faces using textures.

Same..i tried converting to planar first..then selecting "align x or y" ..but it just turned it so it was a straight line. Could use help for a fix here if you can, please =D

I think you could have used your UVmap space better, unless you want to normalmap it of course. You could e.g. have all the legs overlap. But nice tutorial.

I think I figured out the problem us Max 8 users have, on the modifiers tab, expand the unwrap uvw modifier by clicking the little cross and select the "face" selection method that comes out when u select it then all the options should become available for u.

hmmm... Part 1 of your tutorial worked fine, but this Part i can't get anything to work. When I Unwrap UV, mine looks completely different!

Any ideas why?
