Except that they don't work anymore... and the problem with no sub object parameters holds for CS2 aswell. Could someone at least just tell us how they do the same thing in later versions? We need to know how to project a face so it lies flat in the Edit UVW screen.

Edit: OK so you don't seem to need the sub objects thing anymore because it's all contained within that seperate window, which comes up when you edit your Unwrap UVW.

The info on this page helped make sense of things for me, hopefully it will help others who get lost in this thread.

I have 3dsmax 9 and I'm having trouble... urgh have no idea how to do this UV mapping..

It probably will - but you can still drag out the parts and move them around. you'll just have to stitch them together differently.

Theres a hundred different ways to UV map a moddel, and it s best to know as many as possible. - thanks for the tut!
