description
Need your player to hold more ammo then normal? Using a couple of entities you can change the amount.

keywords
extra, player, ammo, point_clientcommand.

If you want to hold more Ammo for any of your guns in SP, READ THIS TUTORIAL. It'll help you make maps with a lot of shotgun battles.

O.K. First, make a point_clientcommand in your map and a logic_auto.

Secondly, Go into your point_clientcommand and name it "ExtraShotgunAmmo"

Thirdly, Go into your "Logic Auto"s Outputs and put this in:

Now, test your map, and you'll be able to hold 128 shotgun ammo.

Here's the gun names:

Pulse Rifle - sk_max_ar2 <number>
Pulse Rifle Orbs - sk_max_ar2_altfire <number>

EDIT: Oops, missunderstood

Though if you play another game or map or whatever after this, the shotgun (or whatever weapon it is) will have the extra ammo and stuff

Yes it does work. I dont know the 'via this input' commands for the cs weapons. Probably the name of the gun entity names on hammer. (EX: weapon_awp). I think this is how they make the player carry on a knive and no pistol.

Used edit to add this so i didnt have to double post.

Im almost sure to make a cs weapon (the pump shotty for EX) (not auto, just normal) would be sk_max_m3 <number>, dont have to put in weapon_m3 because you dont have to add weapon_ar2 in, if you wanted more ammo for the ar2 in hl2 sp.
If you still dont get it, what im trying to get at is, to make a m3 carry more ammo on cs:s, you follow the tutorial's steps but add this in the point_clientcommand's input's "with a parameter override of":

sk_max_m3 300 (or any other number works just fine.)

I am not 100% sure if it will work but just follow this and see what happens.

Ok, so no one wastes time on listing them here, how about you just go into hammer and look at the weapon entity names in the entity list you big nub.
(im just joking, but seriously, do look in the entity list for the weapon names.)

I hope you can forgive me for this bump, but if you want to increase the ammount of ammo you can haul around for a specific weapon in CS:S, all you have to do is this...

It's basicly the same thing as Tutorials instructions, but instead of a 'point_clientcommand', you'll want a 'point_servercommand'. Once you get to the part of creating the output you create in 'logic_auto', you'll want to place "ammo_AMMONAME_max #" in the field ""Parameter"" For now lets go with increasing the deagles ammo capacity, I mean hell, everyone loves the deagle! :D

So basicly your logic_auto's output should read like this

My Output:OnMapSpawn
Target Entity:Whatever you named yer point_servercommand
Target Input:Command
Parameter:ammo_50AE_max 350

Compile yer map and voila, everyones deagle should now be able to carry 350 slugs!

Now if only I could find a way to increase the clip itself....
