Map Battle 18: War and Peace [DeadLine Extended 10-06-2007]

Postby BaRRaKID on Sun May 13, 2007 7:31 pm

Before starting this battle I’ve some news regarding this section.
This will be the last battle that I will do, after this one I’m going to quit and give place to someone else.
The reason is that the last battles haven't been too successful comparing to the others, so I think it’s better if someone with better ideas takes my place.
Anyone who wishes to take my place should send a pm to blink and he will be the one deciding who will keep doing it.
I would like to thank everyone who participated in the map battles since the first one, since you where the ones who made them be as good as they were.

Now the themes for this battle:

Theme 1 – War Zone

Recreate a war zone, it will have to be a decayed and destroyed place, and if it has blood and dead bodies better. The War Zone can be a place from the past, present, or future, as long as it shows that a conflict happened there.

Theme 2 – Peace

If you don’t like war, and “peace and love” is your motto then this is the theme for you. Create a peaceful, calm and tranquilly place. A place where you feel relaxed and inspired to make something good, is up to you to decide what that place is and create it.

The battle will last for 3 weeks, which means it will end at June 3rd Midnight (24:00h) GMT
There will be a time extension to the next weekend if needed, in that case the battle will end at May 10th Midnight (24:00h) GMT.

Since i’m not going to be the one in charge of the next battle i can’t say when it will start, but it should be around the 15th of June.

The general rules can be found here.

Hope you guys have fun with this one. Good Luck everyone.

I think im going to actually try this one :D

one question though, does the war zone theme have to show there was a battle there? or Can we create the scene showing the event of the battle?

If only I could model people....hmmm. I was gonna make a bunch of hippies sitting in a field with a mushroom cloud and soldiers behind them, but then I realised I can't model :(

Very nice idea for a compo. Shame you're not doing it anymore.

What do you mean by "event of the battle"? The main point here is to show something destroied by a war, so if your scene as something destroied in it, it fits with the first theme.

I'll see if I can make something up for this. I'm thinking of something on the Peace side, though.
