Map Battle 18: Poll & Final Images

My vote goes to something. Its a destroyed building (which looks just amazingly beautiful and somehow reminds me of Halo) but at the same time it gives me a nice warm feeling of peace and a time of war long time gone. GREAT WORK!!!

The first pic of Rippers work reminds me of the movie War of the Worlds but its just too dark.

nuke333 had a nice idea but I am missing the level of detail which would underline the peaceful feeling a lot more. In times of peace people take their time to build such a place of inner peace.

Sathor did a great job but the fog is really killing the atmosphere. It would be great to be able to see at least parts of the buildings in the background.

Kodox...hmm...what can I say. The building looks very cool but I dont really like the textures you used. I am sure it took you a long time to build it (and I am not saying that everybody else didnt put a lot of time into their work) but the whole scene has too much focus on just this one building so that the surrounding area lacks in detail. Because of that you scene doesnt seem to be part of a living/breathing world which eats away a lot of the atmosphere.

Ripper finally got my vote.

I found a lot of things in Sathor's picture which I didn't like, and well, after a few days of thinking now, I've decided to go with Ripper's map.

I voted for Sathor's map. It seems to convey the war feeling a bit better. Something's map was very detailed and as already mentioned, it reminded me of something from Halo.

If I was going completely on looks, Something would have got my vote. But Sathor had a good atmosphere.

It seems Something will win this. He has like 40-50 votes more than the others. I voted for Something, unfortunately. I was thinking of voting for Ripper, because his map gave me good vibes for some reason. But alas, my hatred of being singled out of everything was far greater than the vibe I got from his map...
