Post your suggestions for the Model battles here. Approximate polycounts are handy too.

I suggest a Horror theme.

like a Car that is all rusty and bloodied up etc.
barrel, or other objects that are very rusty/bloody.
or any other type of object that can be considered horror/ scary.

poly count 2000 of course :P
texture 512X512.
standard 2 weeks time to finish.

I would suggest a object that represents a sport or some competition.

Ï.e: A football, a Sword (gladiators), a bike, a go-kart, a horse etc etc.

You get me? =) Every type of that sort of thing. Could have many interesting products :P

Here is some ideas:

-Any specific/futuristic weapon

-A portal rift

-Futuristic vehicle

-Cutlery (any type of blade)

-Very organic objects such as alien-like plants

-Creatures (Based off of Metroid Prime)

-Flame (animated!)

-Symbol (An object that represents something. Can't be an already existing object like a flag or something)

That's all I could cook up real quick. Hope some sound useful.

I would say vehicles in general, those would be cool to see, then someone can add physics to em and we can CODE THEM AND DRIVE THEM AROUND OMFG.

Skybox models?

Creatures?

Small items?

Self-portrait model?

clothes?

game consoles?

re-make props from other games?

Hell I don't know.

Make it so if they participate in a model battle that they have to provide a download for the final so we can mooch off of them and use the models in our maps.

I'm interested in this, but I didn't enter the last contest because I couldn't get any sort of inspiration. I wouldn't be surprised if others had the same problem. Personally a more concrete idea probably would have helped me, leaving it vague as something combine has its advantages, but I would like to see how something a bit more constrained might work out for the next battle.

Hmm, that's the trade-off: some people hate being tied down too much, some people can't get a single idea to form if the boundaries are too wide. It's incredibly hard for me to gauge where the right balance lies for the demanding 'lopers populace. Any specific suggestions/examples?

You could do both. Give a concrete example and wide boundaries. For example like in the last one you could have said: Model any combine object that reflects the combine style or model a combine coffee machine.
Das schlimmste ist, wenn das Bier alle ist.

I think smaller items work better, a vehicle or something large that has alot to it doesn't work, at least, for me. I just lose interest because I suck.

Just like, a game pick up, or a peice of furniture or even a wall or something.

I dunno.

I'd like the idea of making things for disabled people, or shopping mall objects, I'm yet to see a good looking supermarket map. And by disabled people I mean like making a handicapped parking sign, a rascal car, canes, etc.
