Well, good luck with that relaxing. :p

The week ahead of me is going to be mapping all the way with my mod. I will actually use my entry as one of the first (and possibly last) levels. It'd be a bit different though.

I'll give you a brief description - you are sailing on a ship but then it wrecks and you are thrown onto this monolith. You head down the shaft and discover destruction.

I have the first two small locations planned, and the ending planned. It is the meat in between that needs serious thought. It will be largely horror based and most likely the player won't have weapons ;)

Anyways, we'll see about that. I think I will be posting alot as I will require help.

As for the map battle entry, I am doing the final touches. :p

Jest should shorten the timeframe for the enxt battle, in my short time here I've never seen one that didn't get an extension. i tihnk to many people don't pace themselves :)

I have to agree with you, I finished my map a few days ago or maybe even a week ago, I had too much time :p

No extension required, will post finals shots later on. The 3 week time-frame is fine for me, but extending because some want to start now seems ridiculous.

I love that MapZone texture editor - that thing is godsend.

EDIT: F*** My texture view is fucked in Hammer - the textures are overstretched D:

Yeah, I wanna get out of the habit of extending. If two or three people who show or have shown WIPs beg for time in the next few hours, I'll extend by one day - but no more.

Seeing some cool stuff here, I can't wait for the rest of the finals to come rolling in!

Yeah I've heard of it haha... I thought I shouldn't do it because of that, but why not? It would be different IMO , but maybe not enough. I have a few other ideas for it too though, just didn't share them all.

And no extension please! I posted my finals thinking it would end today, otherwise I would have tweaked it a little more. Lets finish this one and get on to the next one!

I'll post some WIP-shots just in case my final compile screws up the next hour.

Basically I started with the structure on the top surface. As I thought it's shape and material would stem from harsh winds on the planets surface, I imagined people (?) living in the canyons or gorges of the planet - out of the winds. Wich also means that shape and material in the gorges can be different, more friendly. After many iterations, I came up with a space-port. Basically a few 'runways' marked with blue an red signals, the main platform with 3 smaller green ports. An overseeing 'bridge' above. The top surface also has 4 communication platforms surrounding the port.

Mr. Happy, the 19th map battle got an extension if I recall...didn't it? I could have sworn Jest gave us like 3 more days.
