Thank you Sir, and everyone else that voted for me. No I never even played the mod. I got the idea from an old-school alien movie (Though I don't remember the name of it), just this one amazing scene where a HUGE... thing was floating in mid-air somewhere in England. (IIRC)

And you never got any sort of warning or explanation (at first), just all of a sudden there was an gigantic object floating in the air, for no reason. And for a while it just stayed in this one spot. Not a small humming noise or nothing. And for some reason I (And a lot of other people) were really scared of it. It was so disturbing for some reason that I remember this one scene still today.

Think I lovem all, but Notary is clearly a fellow believer of the commune alien race and my vote goes with him and his intricate squid mother fucker who reminds me of american currency and that orange firery eye from lotr

I was leaning towards melvin for awhile, I think that's a really cool scene, but I don't see it as being "architecture."

All of the participants did a great job but in the end I had to go for 904. Here's why:
The architecture seems really purposefull but unrecognizable. It's not like we build anything on earth that way, but it looks like it could go on and on forever, like there could be whole cities like that. Plus, it looks good.

Most of the other entries had a definitive building quality to them, but they were just to recognizable. Like earthly structures with an alien skin wrapped around them. Which isn't a bad thing, but 904's was so unique in that it didn't follow this paradigm.

I also like vcool's alot, but it seems more like a piece of alien technology rather than a general piece of alien architecture. Like, a radio tower or something when what I was looking for was an office building.

That would be nice, but I doubt I'll get any votes. Still, I'd love it if you did.

Jest@: that sucks.. 51 votes lost..
And I was just thinking about Florida and elections and what a mess that was a few years ago... ;)

Anyway, Mr. Happy you understood very well what I tried to make. I scrapped various designs, from 'housing' or 'living units' on the slopes, to a complete maglev-like structure on the bottom of the canyon. That all seemed to earthy to me. And I did imagine complete city-scapes like this in these canyons (I even considered scaling the structures down and adding alot more, but didn't have the time).
Thanks for all who voted.. hope you'll re-vote.

EDIT: I still haven't picked my favourite though, it's a tough decision.

PPPFFF!!! LOL

rawmeat 30000000, your map looks really great but I just don't like the bright white lighting and the plain walls. I think if you had more time the map would have looked even better.

Melvin's picture is Just so Simple yet SOo strange, my vote for him. Sure not a lot of work involved but I see it differently from the rest, it's a brilliant artistic creation. Gotta say it got me thinking for some reason since it just looks paranormal and spooky. All others are good work but just look too tonish' bright' complex and generic.
