OK, it's time to show my works. I was out of town for a while, so I had only few days for creating my piece. Until Saturday I couldn't decide which idea was best. I had been experimenting with shapes and sketching a lot. Finally I came up with an idea for underground submarine base. Soviet style (they really liked to build things like that.)

It took me two days to set all of the things up. As I haven't had time to make my own props, I decided to build a simple submarine out of primitives. I had spend a great amount of time choosing textures, right lights and water. Water texture was crucial, as I wanted all the reflections to be quite clear. Here are some WIPs of the early stages of my work. In upper left corner is the shot of the first concept map for this map battle. I've had to find something more interesting though. I couldn't send this WIPs earlier.

Although I would want to improve some details, I am quite satisfied with the final result. It is my first map battle and in fact the first thing done in Hammer. I've learned a lot and Interlopers' tutorials have helped me very much.

Thx and good luck to all.

Wow, that's really impressive for a first map. Damn good for an experienced mapper too.

As far as I'm aware it finished at 00:00 ;O Good luck to everyone and vote not for how nice it looks but for how much 'WORK' went into it ;P

Habboi wrote:Wow major difference. When I said boats did that inspire the erm water wheel? :O

Well it inspired the stream basically, I built on that idea and decided the people living here needed a power source for all their energy wasting lights.

Thank you for the kind words everyone. Like The Doctor this is my first complete map, and after this I definitely plan on doing more battles. As for making it playable, I doubt I will, but if anyone at all wants to give it a shot I'll be happy to give them the vmf.

Thanks Jest, I would have loved to do more to the map but just run out of time
