source-maps and mendax's both look very promising. and mendax, if can't find time to texture/prop it further, just complete the brushwork and it will probaly look good anyway.

I'm having some really slow progress, and lighting still sucks, but I think I'm going to use some kind of night-ish thingy with lots of chinese lamps.. Only one thing.. And that is that there are no models for chinese lamps! :S And I can't model.. Well, I'll see what happens.

Hmm... I'm not too hot on the lighting.
Way too blue in my humble opinion. I know night is supposed to be blue, but maybe try having it closer to... 5F8BBD ██████, maybe? Turn the intensity of the light down, of course. Or perhaps 334B66 ██████? I dunno. Those are close to the colors I would use. Your results may vary.

Yes.. I have to fiddle around with the colours, I've never been good with getting the atmosphere right. Thanks. ^^

you need to blend more white in your primary color and black in your ambient color
dont make it so obvious blue or any obvious color.. your last screenie was 'obvious yellow'
am I making any sence? :P

anyway if you want I can 'try' and make I chinese lamp model for you... shouldnt be so hard right?
its a friendly competition anyway

You make complete sense, I'm really trying to learn how to fix up the light_environment, thanks alot. ^^

Well that's two, but I'd prefer it was zero. Looking at it now makes me want to puke. It's a disgusting, vile, putrid, beast that has no soul.

How long do we have left on this?

Is there anything in the rules that say, if our entry is a complete stinker, we can shit can it, and start again?

It's not complete shit, but some of the textures you chose seems very random.

And yes, you can start over again, there's nothing saying you can't.

The building i chose was a school in Tokyo (i think its a school)

Jenkins i think it would look better if you replaced those white trees with 2d planes with tree textures applied to them, this way the orange fog you have applied to the scene will actually blend with the trees and they won't stand out in the scene as looking so white. Just a thought...
