They don't have Streetview in Germany yet, either. They work on it, though. I would have loved to rebuilt something German, of course.

I saw one go through my local town the other week. Only a matter of time.

http://maps.google.com/help/maps/streetview/ contains a map with all current streetview locations. I can't wait to see what everyone comes up with. Good luck!

Hmm, maybe I'll do this one:
http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&q ... 3&t=h&z=20

And respect for the one that can map this, without usage of models xD

Hahah, no...bonus points for thinking of it though :)

Yeah, it's a shame there's no London. I considered saving this idea until London was available, it's meant to be in the next few months apparently. But I figured there has got to be some cool architecture somewhere in the US...

...right? :P

(just kidding everyone, I love the US! So much that I stole one of your women and forced her to emigrate!

Damn, I'm having a hard time just finding a streetview that looks decent enough to be mapped. Everything seems to be either generic and bland, or über complicated. If I find something doable, I might join in.

Looking good Phott. :)

I wonder how many will actually go the full 9 yards and submit a "finished" work; mapping, models, and custom textures.

i'm regretting my decision on the Eiffel Tower.
:(

its just a pain in the ass to curve everything. i might just do it in the 3D skybox. and save myself the heartache on the rendering. im very afraid of the rendering,

the tower is 1/3 the size of real life. b.c a 10,052 ft base. isssssss just ridiculous.

infact. it might be better to make the map. scale it down. .0625 and use the skybox in the first place. lol.
hmmm...
