Don't they flop down when the map is run? unless i propped him up on a load of invisible brushes. I was thinking of adding a fallout styled vault to the map (probs just the door) and maybe have a Prop_ragdoll dog keeping a solitary watch in case It's owners ever return. or maybe have a video feed (a func_monitor to inside) showing that the residents are all dead however the D.O.G doesnt know this. It, or he, or she (depending on wether you support the rights for robots movement (jokes)) is left to rust for all eternity. :(

There is always npc_dog, he's just standing there if you fix it that way.

thus if I understood the topic well, a ship given up in a deserted place can make the deal?

So my scene will be on a forgotten starship :)

I think it is also about giving clues why it was left, I mean, it is about the process of abondoning something, right ... ?

I'm in on this one. I mentioned in the poll thread that my choice for a map would be a rather well-known or obvious choice, but i'll give it a shot.

Think Chernobyl/Pripyat.

I'm going to make a small entry for this one too, don't have school today because I'm ill, so I'll work on a little scene for an hour or so just to boost the number of entries for this battle. So that it doesn't fail like the previous one...
What really sucks though is that my previous map battle entry would've been perfect for this... (see signature)

It'll be a city vista image. Still not sure about the environment around it, I'm deciding on either space or desert.

Space will be a bit more cliche but easier to do. Desert will have a different colour palette and sand build up.

EDIT both environments don't really allow rust now that I think of it...
Barely working on (I'm still very busy with real life):

Im doing a nice abandoned Farm. The reason is due to drought. Im going to create a nice blend texture for the landscape but for now cracked mud will do.

Man, I wish I had time for map battles. I love this concept. it reminds me a little of the Beautiful Decay one though...

I have this idea where you see an old small cottage or something that's left behind for those large concrete buildings in a big city. It seems to get along nicely, will post some WIPs soon.
