I have to agree, if you do use color correction make sure its more subtle and less

I found the bloody problem! It was those damn windows. I must have missed them in my func_detail madness, and now I've gone from 2786 numportals down to 212, all because of those stupid windows.

Thanks to you guys for the offers to help with this stupid error on my part. Now I can get back to work and finish up.

Oh! Did that TF2 SDK update completely fuck up the model viewer?

Yes, Doctor, it did. Untick "Use VGUI Model Browser" in your Hammer Options and you should be able to map without crashing. However, you do have to use the old browser, which sucks ass.

Oh, and, here, Killa:

I have to say Nub, the without color correction looks WAY better. Just because you can sue color correction does not mean you should. what you have in that last screenshot is really nice!

Alright then. I'll just stick to contrast only. I'll be doing another build real quick here. Luckily for me the map only takes about 5 minutes to compile with full HDR. :D

It still looks shit. Looked better originally that first screens you posted.

Make it reddish orangeish and creamish.

Instead of simply making overly blunt statements about my map looking like bad, you could elaborate a little as to why you think it does look bad, Cow.

I could say more, but, you know, I don't hate you, Cow.

Here's a small update. I'm sorting out the lighting and skybox first before I do anything else. I did a simple curves tool with color correction for contrast to see if that satisfies any of you (regarding coloring, not lighting and shadows). I'd do an orange/cream coloration, but green resembles happiness, which is what I'm aiming for along with the eden theme.

And once again to be sure you know. I'm going to sort out the sky box so that it makes sense with the light angle and color.

I perhaps agree that day time green gives a 'happiness' feel but your shots seem more night time, thus representing a darker, more sinister mood, at least i think so. The lighter, more natural shots a couple of pages back were nice and i think represented the theme better, if anything use that colour scheme then up the contrast of the colours so you have a wealth of nice strong colours (oranges yellows, greens) and they are all quite vibrant (i.e. virbant blue sky, warm orange sun, bright green grass...sort of hyper realism if you get me, but not overdone).

My thoughts on it anyway

Oh Mr nub, i told you why it looks bad, the colours! Go back to the original was much nicer, your greens are far too harsh, too much green, don't need green lighting with so much green stuff around. Look this is just my opinion on what looks good, in my opinion that lighting looks shit, I'm just saying is all, so maybe you want to change it if you know people don't like it! If it's integral to the concept of your piece then leave it and if you like how it looks then leave it. I was merely stating my opinion! No offense intended, but seriously, that colour lighting looks shit. Haha.

if mere color correction is the only serious problem then it's hardly a big deal

I like the blueish tinge, it doesn't make my eyes jump out of the sockets 'cause of color like the old screenshot does.

honestly, i like the lighting 2 posts above. i mean it's eden, not an office cubicle. it's allowed to be a bit abnormal.

I agree, the newest one you posted that didn't have color correction was my favorite. You could use it to accentuate a bit with levels and maybe a tinge of color but nothing big I'd say.

I couldn't resist working on mine a little more. :-D
