Hey the wiki page for Room 101 says there was a reference to it in Half-Life 2.... I don't remember seeing anything that referred to 1984.

There was a reference to room 101 in the hl2 opening train station, the player is led into barney's interrogation room, the one to the left of it is numbered 101.
