Didn't make room 101 like i think everyone will do it, torture chamber with a chair etc.
So I decided to create something different.

Made a room on a spaceship hovering above an ocean with small islands, the fear in this is you are hanging so high the gound. And the water will just smash you if you hit it, or the nice antlion will taste you untill you love the big brother.

The anti-gravity laser carries Breen to the antlion, because breen didn't love the Big brother.

But I thought Breen was Big Brother.

You should make the lightmaps smaller and the room darker, maybe.

none of the entries look interesting...

guys, how about
- more interesting lighting
- play on camera angles
- more detail through a. architecture or b. props or c. both
- give us something pretty to look at please.

I think i'm going to change my plan about the map, can't get the small islands underneath my spaceship, to look like they are in a real ocean.

I think instead of doing room 101 like everybody here is doing, do an outline of it with blood trailing under the door and a chipped and broken wall.

Not really, but you could check out wikipedia for the Ministry of Love or 1984 and browse around from there.

In general:
I see some are a bit stuck with room 101 / a torture room. That's fine, it's part of the theme. But to put it bluntly: If I had wanted to limit you creativity for this theme to a torture room, I would have make the theme "Room 101", not "The Ministry of Love". I specifically didn't because I want you guys to have creative freedom to expand beyond a room like that. The Ministry of Love can be interpreted in many ways, you can see it as the building, the institution, it's methods (which includes the famous room 101) or just the general concept of suppression and calling it love. I thought that wouldn't be too difficult since we all played Half Life 2 and we have seen the concept..

When I initially suggested Room 101, I didn't even think of a room. I was thiking more of the metaphor of Room 101 - your fear or whatever.

I guess it was taken a bit too literally.

I might have something done, but I had an assignemnt to do this week and I don't know if I'll mate it. If I do, it'll probably be in dev textures. :|

Oooh I like template battles although I didn't enter the last one... If it's something good I'll definitely enter. I need a good excuse to get some more experience in getting models into maps.

fixing the floor texture so it tiles correctly and doing a bunch of modeling now.
It's quite simple really. I want to be a professional level designer. I want this to be my job.

Slowly starting to get frustrated as I keep messing with the lights and still don't like how it looks.

Edit- on a side note I'm liking how my ceiling and floor texture came out. May have to make the ceiling be .20 instead of .25 though as the plaster is looking awkwardly large. Coffin is in Maya now and I've still got to figure out how to do Flower arrangements that will look correct in hammer. Doing the wood coffin and the brass handles as two separate models so I can take advantage of different shaders.

Probably going to add a spot-light that goes down onto the casket at an angle coming from near the viewer from the ceiling to keep it the center of attention (as if every single line in the level not pointing directly to that table didn't do that already)

Wow, that's some weird ass warping going on in the third image, like a fish-eye lens almost. It most certaintly does not look like that in-game.
It's quite simple really. I want to be a professional level designer. I want this to be my job.
