Says you, Mr.TheresNoWayYouCanMakeSlopedCurvyRoadsWithBrushes bullshit.

It's nothing about being negative. Just, with my post, I would expect a mass of Borealis scenes for an Ep3 theme... though now I feel like I'm under-estimating the creativity of the guys on here; sorry! :(

Even so, it's hard to think of a way to do a "map battle" any more extensively than basing them on themes, because they'd just take to long to really work as bitesized compeititons. Through my knowledge, battles of any kind don't last very long at all :P

I vote for a prehistoric themed hl2dm mapping contest. For example, dinosaurs, volcanoes, meteors, tar-pits etc. I think people could really let loose on this theme and come up with some drastically new custom content. Any thoughts?

I can't remember what website I saw this on, but I really liked it. Basically, they held a mapping contest to a theme, like you guys do here, but for custom-content-intense theme like your one Shinobi, they actually provided a nice selection of stuff from props to overlays that you could use.

I don't suppose something like that could be organised among everybody on here?

I don't care about what it is specifically, but I really want a map battle focused on gameplay whether it's hl2dm or tf2 or a singleplayer game.

Grove/oasis/pond or "wet" (meaning swamps and sewers and nearly everything "wet").

I could see a ton of custom content being needed for something like that.

I love the idea of a limitation.

I think this sounds great. no actual architectural limit, just size.

There would have to be a very rough theme though. Like wet or holy. We've already done a space limitation battle like that and we got a bunch of decaying industrial settings which is boring.

Atrium was our last generalised one; I think 904's been saving something special for the next one.
