Hmm...Thought I'd at least get some votes, mine turned out pretty good to me, and the lake is full of burnt up corpses! YAY CORSPES!

This was a tough decision.

MercX got big points from me for originality. Reminded me of Reeke's big alien dildo :) But alas, there was another map that really caught my eye.

I think I would have voted for Alex's (it looked stunning) if it were a bit bigger and designed more intentionally around a lake.

There were some fantastic images, but in the end I had to vote for Jake because something about his shots seemed to capture a realistic lake perfectly. The small foliage blended in naturally and I think it was the fact that one of the edges of the lake was a rocky outcropping, I think that looked great.

I voted for MercX because the atmosphere is just perfect. I'm always one to reward style over stubstance whenever possible. However, it was such a hard decision, Jakes entry looks so real that I just want to float around on a tube and Alex' looks perfectly idylic. I love how it came together and looks like a little pond of paradise for some little kid.

Honestly, there were alot of great entries for this one. Good Job guys.

I thought MercX and marnami made really nice maps, and got big points for originality...

I also really liked Meotwister's map, but it was missing something and looked more like a WIP...

In the end, Jake got my vote too, simply because his lake was the most realistic. Congrats. :P

Alex royce's looked a bit TOO realistic.

Since when could you put a rainbow in hammer?

Look closely..

Voted jakes.

The rainbow is there yes, but it's definitely not photoshopped if that's what you're insinuating.

I CANT DECIDE! IAN NO LIKING HARD CHOICE!

buuut... mercX - others where realistic but let down by the game engines limits to make a 'real' lake, I think by making an unreal lake, mercX creates a better game environment, and IMHO, a very pretty one at that.

Some great entries good work all.

For me it was a hair's breadth between Jake and Royce as both scenes are superb visually, but I ended up giving it to Jake simply because his lake was more of a lake whereas in the Royce map it looked more like a large puddle.

Once again good job all, some excellent mapping on show here :)
