Jakes looks alot nicer i will admit that. But my personal appinion is woes is alot more technical it would of taken alot more work. The brushwork is bloody superb i dont think ive seen better brushwork anywhere.

don't forget that what matters is what looks better, not what gives more work to do. Sometimes (well most of the times) simpler designs work better

Yeah. I think that there are three really great maps here and I'm super impressed with yours woekitten, but Jakes feels so natural, so real and so awesome he squeaks by on this one. Great job to everyone though

Somehow I don't agree. He made one set of perfect pillars (Admittedly) and then copy + rotated them into place to form what you've seen. Then he added all the variations to the along the way, really, again not the hardest thing.

Jake made a big fat section out of THE WALL, individual pieces. It's also huge, huuuge.

So really, I don't think you're correct.

Alexandria: very clean yet detailed brushwork, perfect scale. Unfortunately the textures just don't tile well enough, and I think it would really benefit from some subtle-yet-noticable HDR. the lighthouse itself looks awesome adjust some textures, add some dustclouds, smooth the displacements, stick in a 3d skybox and let us download it! :)

Great Wall: my only complaint is that no one will ever play that map (video cards exploding). :D

Colloseum: too bad you couldn't finish :? . IMO a few different angles and a good mix of HDR between the sky and colloseum would have done wonders for the screenies. Obviously it has the most awesome brushwork ever, and great textures. :-D um, and is that tree 2d? why... ?

I am perfectly content to pass the award to whoever wins this competition, they are all deserving of it!

edit: and Barrakid are you aware that the voting title says 'Battl'?
