Steam and Source Engine on its way to Linux?

Apparently, deep within the .vpk's in Left 4 Dead, binaries for running Steam and the Source engine for linux exist. Hopefully, this means that Steam and Source are finally on their way to being completely platform-agnostic. We can only hope.....
