I agree with this. And I think the only reason interlopers isn't "flourishing" right now is due to the current state of the SDK and its lack of updates, not because interlopers isn't fancy enough.

Ye, that could be very true. Have thought about it some more and maybe it does not suit interlopers as good as I thought it should^^ Anyway, that was the only thing I could come up with!

Are you guys going to work on the dev.interlopers.net sub-domain, so we can see how it's coming along? I think that would be cool and useful, as we could also give input on it before it replaces the current design.

Id like to see it use more of the space available. A more modular design approach with more colors.

Are there any plans to extend the unreal section? Lots of lopers are making the switch and the forum setup here for source works really well. I'd like to see two forums for general editing, one for source and one for unreal.

I am not interested in an unreal section, thats my opinion. i go here for source sdk stuff.

anyway, i really like the forum and the tutorials. they are my main reason for visiting on a daily basis. downloads and articles can be removed? contact can be placed somewhere else or just through an email address? portfolios could maybe be highlighted more? map spotlight doesn't update too often? the site can more focused and linear/tighter than it is today.

looking forward to the new interlopers site. hope it to be design-wise easier to navigate, visually better and just pure awesome.

So don't visit the UDK part of the forum, simple as that. I don't hang around in the modelling section because I don't do modelling, but I don't mind having it there.

I think a UDK section would be a mistake -- afterall, in a years time there could be another Engine people feel like tinkering around with. If it's going to be a site dedicated to multiple engines then they should all inhabit the same forumspace, otherwise keep it predominently Source themed. Personally I would go for the latter -- if people want to move over to UDK there are plenty of UDK-centric websites and forums out there already. It doesn't bother me seeing the occasional UDK shot in the screenshots thread here, but it'd be irritating if the tutorial section lost its current focus on Source.

I'm not sure how much has been decided on the forum side of things.

As for the main layout, there is only a few little tweaks left. Main changes are thus:

    - It is now more apparent that Interlopers social pages exist. (but unobtrusive)
    - "Current Map Battles and Challenges" link removed. Map Spotlight, recent tutorials, login area, downloads, articles are removed too.
    - Navigation generally more noticeable.
    - Tutorials and the Error Checker play a larger role in the home page without distracting from the main content.
    - News articles much more pleasant to read, subtle share button on each article.
    - Forum latest has a new look. Generally nicer to look at, with time stamps of last post and "new" icon on unread new posts.
    - Login will now be a dropdown to save space.
    - Advert remains.

Should hopefully look great on different size devices.

My only concern at the moment is it might be too bright for you night owls :P

Anyway, get in some final ideas you might have on the home page before the final design gets nailed down.

You removed map spotlight D:

Also what happened to that optional darker color scheme?
