Well there is no reason why a darker colour scheme can't be done. Just might come a little after :)

The spotlight could come back in the future, but it needs some rethinking. For now Blink has decided to do away with it. Keep any ideas in regard to that coming as it's a nice feature, just a little too dead at the moment to take up space.

well, that's my opinion. and i would like the site to have a focus around source sdk.

I think the movement in the community towards unreal is hardly definable as "tinkering". Some lopers are considering, some lopers are tinkering, some lopers have turned their backs on source and are galloping off into the sunset with the UDK. The communities on most unreal-centric boards are crap. There's too much politics with good PR so they can sell their games. At least on interlopers you know people are giving you the raw deal.

From the look of this thread Interlopers stands to lose a few members of its community to UDK, and the forums are quiet enough already. I don't think a UDK tutorials and news and all the whizzbang stuff would be necessary, just a new subforum for those who want to try out unreal. If it takes up too much room then perhaps... toggleSlide() anyone?

so far there have been about 1 topic per month in the udk section, about 20 or so in the hammer section. Splitting these forums more is ridiculous.

There has been a UDK section of the forum for a long time now - viewforum.php?f=49

Yeah but it seems like an aside, are we supposed to post our unreal engine WIPs right in next to the source engine WIPs? It doesn't seem like that would be the ideal setup. But if it is, then yeyy.

i'm fine with the source/udk subforum setup, i don't think there should be any sort of forced schism.
i had fun once, and it was awful.

Maybe just name it UnrealED or UDK section. So people know it's not just for help.

No I think I get it. The source section isn't particularly labelled for source so you can post anything in there, UDK or source or CE3 or goldsrc, w/e.

I agree with z@c. No need to make separate forum sections for UDK and Source. We can just have a UDK pimpage thread along with a Source pimpage thread, and people can just put something like [UDK] or [Source] in the titles of their threads so others can distinguish them.

The main things on the list at the moment are:

- Cleaner, easier to read design. The site is very text based, so it should be more joyous to read
- Responsive design. For those unaware, this is the concept of a site working on all platforms (phone, tablet, desktop).
- A bunch of other tweaks
You click on Build or type
make (or some equivalent), and you are astonished, then mortified, as you realize that the whole world is being
recompiled and relinked!

Just an update on this. It has been progressing (gradually) and I'm soon to start on the front-end stuff so there will be something to show soon.
