Interlopers. game Server and donations.

This is just an idea.

An interlopers game server would be amazing IMO. As to what game or what ever im not sur ebut i'd dare say CS:S considering most of the maps here are CS.

I just think with a community like this our own game server would be a lot of fun and provide a place for us to play these amazing custom maps.

The other idea is sort of tied in with the server but not completly. That is donations. I know people donated before (ACX and Spartan i think) but if we had a server people who donte could get perks like reserve slots, admin mods could give them certain abilities (nothing that would ruin the game)

In the forums they could get a little bar under their name and access to extra forums or what ever.

I had a server running with interlopers maps for a little while, though the clan donater left the clan to start another 1.6 one cause my freind wouldnt make his server a default...

Last time i ever orginize a clan, all the members ditched me when doing so.

Definatley would be a fantastic thing. Can put past "spotlight" or "map of the month" maps on rotation and people could apply for thier betas to be tested...
It's all money though eh? I would be happy to put a few quid in a month but it would need quite a few of us, looked a while ago and i think a six man server is like £20 a month. So to get seriouse size, 22 players?
Will have a hunt around and report back.

Can't get past thre homepage but it looks like $1.90 per slot which is what, £1.30 maybe? so say roughly £28 quid a month for a 22 man srver..
We would need to see where most people were donating from, and where the servers are, that big old atlantic creates quite a ping!

It would be hard to generate funds every month through donations, sadly I cannot afford to contribute myself. All my pennies go on the web server.

Fair enough. That's the problem though.

If you can get it running then you get more donators and it's a little easier to maintain.

Getting it off the ground is a whole different matter though.

Have atleast 4 bots running, and have 1 replaced every time a new player joines. get what im saying? that way, the server constantly has 4 players.

Or maybe we could get some devs to sit in the server for hours. Im up for it!

To vasko : You could probably start up the one in europe (if you feel like doing so) and i could run one maybe on the east side, i get pretty good ping in florida (somehow like 50 ping )

Talking about money not getting people interested . I dare say a lot of lopers would play. But Blink funds Interlopers out of his own poly afford to get a game server running as well.

And....? not all of us are from the USA yet we can use paypal etc to buy subscriptions to american sites and play on their game servers no problem.
