Doors, Entity mixing, Lack of them.

Alright, this is annoying the crap out of me -- I can't figure out how to create doors. Every time I attempt to make a thin(-ish) wall, it says the box is empty, or it goes to the grid, making the brush too big.

Also, how does one place a entity on top of an entity(A T.V. on top of a table)? And, one more thing, every time I put an entity in, it goes through the wall or floor. When I try to move this entity out, it only moves to the grid, there's no middle ground. Is there a way to put an entity in that doesn't go through the brushes?

none shud go through the brushes. Make sure u havent tied ur floor to func_illusionary or sumthing. To place an entity on top of a table is simple... just place the table model entity 1 unit from the ground then the tv a couple higher than the 1st then when the map loads... they will fall into place.

If u want i will make a rotating door tutorial?? wudnt take too long i dont think

Hmm. That'd be quite helpful if you'd make a swinging door tutorial. I'd appreciate it if you did. Anyways, when I put an entity down, and make it a func_physics class, and shape it as any type of prop(Fridge, Stove, etc.), it ends up halfway in the floor or wall. Should I just put it above the ground, and let it fall into place, or what? I feel like I'm missing something.

Also, thanks for the entity-on-entity lesson. It helped alot. Last thing: I should just put a light source on an entity/prop(A lamp), where the lightbulb would be, or is there a way to mix the two specifically?

Thanks for the info.

The bulb prop may well already be configure to give of light - if not then add a light entity. and the answer is yes about lettin it fall into place, make sure not to have it fall too far tho coz mite not end up where u want it.
