Using infodecal on func_brush does not appear

Hello,

I have a question I cannot find an answer for after searching for quite some time. I cannot get a decal to appear on walls that people can shoot through. Basically, I have a wall constructed of 3 brushes (bottom middle, top). The middle brush is a func_brush with solidity set to Never solid. People can see out but cannot see in. Placing a decal over the area results in the decal only appearing on the top and bottom brushes while leaving the middle brush blank after a complie (looks fine in hammer).

Same thing happens if I make the brush a func_door instead of a func_brush and also using overlays results in the same behavior. So is there a trick for this type of situation that I am overlooking?
